Scalable Vector Graphics

Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) are a type of computer file that use shapes and lines to create pictures, like a drawing or painting. Unlike traditional pictures, which use lots of tiny colored squares (called pixels) to make a picture, SVG files use mathematical equations to draw the shapes. That means that the same computer file can be used to draw a tiny picture or a really big picture - no matter what size you need, the quality stays the same. SVG files are often used for logos and icons because of this.
