ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Scottish independence

Okay kiddo, so do you know what independence means? It means that you can make your own decisions and be in charge of yourself. So some people in Scotland want Scotland to be independent from the rest of the United Kingdom.

Right now, Scotland is part of the UK, which means they share things like the government and some rules. But some people in Scotland want to be able to make their own decisions about things like taxes, laws, and how they run their country.

So, there's going to be a big vote to see if Scotland should become independent or not. Some people think it's a good idea because then Scotland could do things their own way. Others think it's not a good idea because they might not have as much help from the rest of the UK if they need it.

Does that make sense, kiddo?
