ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Sea (astronomy)

The sea is a really big area of salty water that covers most of our planet. It’s like a really huge swimming pool! But you can't drink the water in the sea because it has a lot of salt in it.

The sea is really important for a lot of reasons. It is home to many different creatures like fish, whales, and dolphins. It also helps keep our planet's temperature just right by helping to absorb and release heat. And it's really fun to swim in and play on the beach!

But did you know that the sea is also connected to outer space? That's right! The sea on Earth is actually a part of a bigger system called the Earth's oceans, which is connected to other planets in our solar system.

In space, there are moons and planets that also have seas. For example, one of Jupiter's moons, Europa, has a huge sea of icy water under its surface. Scientists think that there might be life living in Europa's sea!

So even though the sea on Earth is big and exciting, there are other seas out there to explore and discover as well!
