Self-employment means that you are your own boss. That means that instead of working for someone else (like a boss or a company) you work for yourself. You might do this by doing freelance work, coming up with your own business ideas, or even selling things you make with your hands. You are responsible for doing your own taxes, providing your own benefits, and setting your own hours and workload.
