ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Freelancer

Okay kiddo, imagine that you like to draw pictures and people really like your drawings. They might ask you to draw pictures for them and they will pay you some money for it. That's kinda like what a freelancer is.

A freelancer is someone who has a certain skill or talent, like writing, designing websites, or taking pictures, and they work for themselves instead of for a company. They find people who need their skill and offer to do a project for them. When they finish the project, they get paid for their work instead of getting a regular paycheck from a boss.

So, instead of working in an office, a freelancer can work from home, a cafe, or anywhere with an internet connection. They can also choose their own projects and clients, which is pretty cool. But being a freelancer also means that they have to find their own work, manage their own time and money, and pay for things like taxes and healthcare by themselves.

Overall, being a freelancer is kind of like being your own boss and doing what you're good at, but it also comes with some responsibilities that need to be taken care of.
