ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Self-sustainability

Self-sustainability is a way of living that reduces the amount of resources you need from outside of your home. That means you do things differently to minimize the money or supplies that you need from other places or people. For example, you might choose to plant a vegetable garden in your backyard so that you don't need to buy vegetables from the store. Or, you might choose to use solar energy to power your house instead of buying electricity from the power company. Taking steps like these help you be more self-sustainable.
