Shell money

Shell money is a form of currency that was used many years ago. It was made by stringing together lots of small shells that were found in the ocean. People would exchange these strings of shells as a way to buy goods or pay for services. It was like using coins or paper money, but instead of metal or paper, people used strings of small shells.
