Shield-maiden

A shield-maiden is like a brave warrior woman who fights alongside the men in very old times.

In the old days, people used to fight with swords and shields to protect their lands and families from enemies who want to harm them. And sometimes, some very strong and brave women also wanted to fight too, not just the men. These women would wear armor and carry big shields to protect themselves whilst fighting.

These women were known as shield-maidens, and they were very tough and brave! They would fight with all their might and help the men to win battles. They were admired by their fellow warriors and respected for their courage and bravery.

Nowadays, we don’t have shield-maidens anymore because people have learned to solve problems by talking and peaceful ways of living. But in history books and stories, the legend of the shield-maiden still lives on.
