ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Simplex communication

Hi there!

Do you know what talking to someone on the phone is? When you talk on the phone, you can hear the other person speak to you, but they can't hear you talk at the same time. This is because the phone uses simplex communication.

Simplex communication is like a one-way street where only one person can talk at a time. When you are using simplex communication, you can send information in one direction, but you can't receive information back from the person you are communicating with.

This type of communication is used in many different things such as walkie-talkies, radios, and even some types of computer networks.

I hope that explanation helps you understand simplex communication!
