Snow blindness

Okay kiddo, have you ever gone outside on a really sunny day and it was super bright outside? Well, when there is a lot of snow on the ground, it reflects the sunlight and makes it even brighter outside! If you don't protect your eyes when it's super bright like that, it can hurt your eyes and make them feel really uncomfortable - kind of like when you accidentally stare at a flashlight.

When this happens, it's called "snow blindness". But don't worry, it's not permanent! It just means that your eyes need a break from all that bright light. It's a bit like getting a sunburn on your skin - your eyes need time to heal too!

So, the best way to avoid snow blindness is to wear special sunglasses or goggles that protect your eyes from all that bright light. They look a bit like regular sunglasses but are made with special materials that block out the extra reflections from the snow. This will help keep your eyes comfortable and protect them from getting hurt. So, if you're planning to go outside to play in the snow, make sure you bring along a pair of sunglasses or goggles to protect your eyes!
