Social programs

Social programs are things that the government does to help take care of people. For example, if parents can't afford to buy food for their children, the government can give them money to help. Or, if someone is sick and can't work, the government can give them money to help pay the bills while they are not working. Social programs help people who need extra help when they are in a tough spot.
