ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Solicitor

A solicitor is like a grown-up helper who can help you with important legal stuff. They are like a teacher who knows a lot about the law and can explain it to you in a way that you can understand. It's kind of like when you ask your parents for help with your homework, but the solicitor helps with things that are more serious.

Solicitors can help you with many legal things, like buying or selling a house, writing a will, or getting a divorce. They can also explain your rights and help you understand what you should do to protect yourself in certain situations.

To become a solicitor, you have to go to school for a long time and study lots of different things, including the law. After they finish school, solicitors have to take a test to prove they know a lot about the law before they can help people as a solicitor. They also have to follow some important rules to make sure they are always honest and fair when they help people.
