The Spanish Golden Age was a period of time in Spanish history. It lasted from the 1400's to the 1600's. During this time, the arts blossomed in Spain. This was a period of great creativity and innovation in painting, writing, and music. People wrote plays in the Spanish language and created works of art in forms that hadn't been seen before. It was also a time of great exploration. Spanish explorers explored the New World and mapped many new lands. During this period of exploration, Spain became a world power. People from around the world were attracted to the culture of Spain during the Spanish Golden Age.
