Speech and language pathology

Speech and language pathology is the study of how we use words, sounds, and symbols to communicate. People who work in the field of speech and language pathology are called speech-language pathologists. They help people who have problems with communication. Some of the things a speech-language pathologist can help with include understanding and using words, sounds, or gestures in speech or writing, and understanding what is said or read by others. Speech-language pathologists also help people who have difficulty swallowing, eating, or using facial expressions.
