ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Speedometer

A speedometer is a little gadget in a car that tells you how fast you are going. Just like how your clock tells you what time it is! The speedometer is connected to the wheels of the car and can tell how fast they are turning.

The speedometer has a little pointer that moves around a circle with numbers on it. The numbers show how many miles per hour the car is going. When you are driving faster, the pointer on the speedometer will point to a bigger number.

The speedometer is important because it helps drivers know how fast they are going, so they can be safe while driving. It can also help drivers know if they are breaking any speed limits. Additionally, some speedometers have lights on them that can warn you if you are driving too fast or if something is wrong with your car.

So, just like your clock tells you the time, the speedometer tells you how fast you are going in your car.
