Stone balls

Hi there! Let's talk about stone balls! Have you ever seen a ball made out of rock? It's pretty cool.

You know how we usually make balls out of things like rubber or plastic? Well, people a long, long time ago didn't have those materials. So, they would use rocks instead.

These stone balls were made by taking a large rock and chipping away the edges until it became round like a ball. It's kind of like carving a pumpkin for Halloween, but instead of pumpkin insides, you're left with a round rock.

Now, you might ask, "What were these stone balls used for?" Well, that's a great question. People from different cultures have used stone balls in different ways. Some thought of them as works of art and used them as decorative objects. Others used stone balls for games and played with them like we do with balls today.

But some cultures also believed that stone balls had magical properties. They thought that the smooth, round shape of the ball represented something special, like the earth or the sun. So, they would use these stone balls in religious ceremonies or rituals.

Nowadays, we don't really use stone balls as much as we used to. But they are still a fascinating object to study and can teach us a lot about how people used to live and think.
