ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Stream of consciousness (psychology)

Stream of consciousness is a way of thinking about things that is like a continuous flow, rather than in a structured way. Imagine it as a constant rushing river of thoughts; it's like the mind is completely open and all the thoughts and feelings flow together in one unorganized way. It's the way that your brain works when you're dreaming or daydreaming. Stream of consciousness can help you access your thoughts more freely and quickly and it can help you to link and make connections between experiences, memories and thoughts.
