Tank Man

Tank man is a famous photo of a very brave man. On June 5th, 1989 in Beijing, China, hundreds of thousands of people were peacefully protesting in the streets. The Chinese government decided to try to stop the protests by sending in tanks. Tank man courageously stepped in front of the tanks and blocked them from moving forward. He was bravely standing in front of the tanks until another person helped him move away and he was not seen again. The photo of him standing in front of the tanks has been shared around the world and shows the power of standing up to people in power.
