Tankie

Tankie is a term used to describe people who believe that the only way to achieve socialism is through the support of authoritarian governments, such as those in North Korea or Cuba. They view socialism as something that must be strictly enforced and defended at all costs in order to be successful. They usually don't believe in democracy and are very critical of reformist movements, such as those in Hong Kong, that call for more democracy and freedom in their countries.
