Taxonomy (biology)

Taxonomy is a way of labeling different kinds of living things using scientific names. It helps us to organize and classify them, so we can understand how different species are related to each other. Taxonomy is like a giant family tree for living things. All living things can be divided into different groups, based on their shared characteristics. For example, all lions belong to the same taxonomic group, which is called "Felidae" and the scientific name for lions is Panthera leo. These classifications help us talk about and understand the world around us.
