Terrorist financing

Do you remember when we played with play money? We pretended that the money was real and we used it to buy things we wanted like toys or candy. Well, some grown-ups use real money to do bad things like hurt people, destroy buildings, and cause a lot of problems. This is what we call terrorism.

But where do they get the money from? They can't just go to a store and buy things like we do with play money. They have to use real money to buy weapons, materials and travel from one place to another. This real money is called terrorist financing.

Terrorist financing is when a bad guy or group gets money from different places like stealing or selling drugs, and uses it to do bad things like planning attacks or bombings. They might even try to trick other people into giving them money by pretending that the money will be used for good things, but then using it for bad things instead.

To stop terrorist financing, a lot of grown-ups work together to find where the bad guys are getting their money from and try to stop them. They also make laws to stop people from giving money to the bad guys, and sometimes freeze their bank accounts so they can't access their money anymore. This way, the bad guys can't use the money to do bad things anymore.
