Timber framing

Timber framing is a type of building where wooden pieces are joined together to make a skeleton structure. The pieces of wood are called beams, and they are cut in different shapes and sizes. The joints between the beams are called "mortise and tenon" joints. These are made by carving out a hole in the wood and inserting a smaller piece of wood into it. The pieces of wood fit together tightly and make a very strong frame. It is usually used to make walls and roof supports, and it is often seen in old houses and buildings.
