ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Townhouse

Okay kiddo, a townhouse is a special kind of house that is connected to other houses in a row, sort of like a puzzle! Each of the houses usually looks the same on the outside, but on the inside they can be different.

Imagine you have some Legos and you want to build a house. You build one big room and then add some more rooms on top of it. Then, you build another house attached to the first one using your Legos. You keep building houses this way until you have a row of houses that are all connected together.

Inside the townhouse, you usually have things like a kitchen, living room, bedrooms, and bathrooms just like any other house. But because the townhouses are attached to other houses, they may not have big yards or gardens like other houses. Instead, they might have a small yard or patio.

Being a part of a row of houses means that your townhouse is usually close to other people’s houses, so it's important to be a good neighbor and not make too much noise or do anything that might bother other people. But the good thing is, you can make new friends and have neighbors to play with!
