Two Kingdoms Doctrine is an idea that says God is in charge of two different parts of life: the spiritual and the political. God rules over the spiritual world while human beings rule over the political world. The two worlds should never mix. That means that the church should not try to control religious beliefs or how people should live their lives, and the government should not try to control someone's spiritual practice or beliefs. The idea is that each realm should be respected and that both should have their own roles.
