ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Tzimtzum

Tzimtzum is an idea from Jewish mysticism which is used to describe how God created the world. It means "contraction" or "withdrawal" in Hebrew. In this idea, God shrunk down and created a tiny space in the middle of nothingness, and then filled this space with everything that exists today. God did this so that each thing he created would have its own special space and would be allowed to exist.
