Unstated assumption

An unstated assumption is something that you assume to be true but it hasn't been said out loud. For example, let's say you are eating dinner with your family. You assume that everyone will be polite and wouldn't talk with their mouth full. That is an unstated assumption because it wasn't said out loud, but you still assume it to be true.
