ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Vector graphics

Vector graphics are pictures that are made up of mathematical calculations instead of pixels. They are usually made up of lines, shapes and curves. Vector graphics can be scaled up or down – you can make them bigger or smaller – without losing any quality. This is because they do not use pixels like a photo; instead they use mathematical equations such as points, lines, curves, and shapes. So no matter how big or small you make the image, the picture will stay clear!
