ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Vibration fatigue

Vibration fatigue is what happens when something keeps vibrating and shaking for a long time, and eventually gets tired and might even break.

You know how if you shake a toy too much, sometimes the batteries will die and it won't work anymore? That's kind of like what happens to machines and other things that vibrate too much for too long.

Vibration can make small cracks or weak spots in things, kind of like when you draw on a piece of paper too much and it starts to tear. If those cracks or weak spots keep getting vibrated, they can get bigger and bigger until the thing just can't take it anymore and breaks.

So basically, just like how you might get tired and cranky if you're in a bumpy car for a long time, things can get tired and break if they're shaking and vibrating too much for too long!
