ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Volenti non fit injuria

"Volenti non fit injuria" means that if someone willingly and knowingly takes a risk or agrees to participate in something that could be dangerous or harmful, then they cannot later claim that they have been harmed or hurt by it. Let's say you and your friend are playing a game of tag, and your friend accidentally pushes you and you fall down, skinning your knee. If you agreed to play tag and knew there was a chance of getting hurt, then you can't blame your friend and say they hurt you on purpose. You knew the risks and agreed to play anyway. It's like saying "I know what I'm getting into, and I can't be upset about it later."
