War on terror

The War on Terror is a fight against groups (like Al Qaeda) that use violence to try and scare people and governments. The US government and its allies are trying to stop them from doing bad things and keeping us safe from their attacks. To do this, they have been working in countries where these groups live and operate, so they can tell them not to do bad things. They do this by sending in military to train local police and armies to fight the groups, or by sending in diplomats to try and talk to the groups to get them to stop. They also use laws and rules, like freezing money or stopping people from travelling, to try and stop these groups from operating.
