Weather map

A weather map is like a really big picture that shows us what the weather is like in different places around the world. It's kind of like how your teacher uses a map to show you where different countries are. But instead of showing countries, a weather map shows things like clouds, rain, and snow.

All of the different parts of the map are color-coded so we can easily see what's going on. For example, if there are a lot of big blue spots on the map, that means there's probably going to be some rain in those areas. And if there are a lot of big white spots, it might mean there's snow!

Scientists use weather maps to help them predict what the weather is going to be like in the future. They can look at how the different parts of the map are moving and changing to figure out whether it's going to get hotter, colder, windier, or rainier.

So next time you see a weather map on TV, just remember that it's kind of like a big picture of the sky that tells us what the weather is like!
