Whitewash (censorship)

Whitewash is when some people try to control what you can see or hear. It's like when someone uses a paintbrush to paint over something. They're covering it up so you can't see it or hear it anymore. It is often used by governments to try to hide unpleasant or embarrassing events and to keep people from speaking out.
