ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Wudhu

Wudu is a special way of washing yourself before you pray in Islam. It's like taking a bath but only for certain parts of your body that are important for praying. Wudu is important because it helps you get rid of bad things that might stop your prayer from being accepted.

When you do wudu, you start by saying a special phrase that means "In the name of Allah", which means you are doing this to please God. Then you wash your hands three times, making sure to get all the parts like between your fingers. Next, you rinse your mouth and nose three times each to clean them out.

After that, you wash your face three times, making sure to get all the parts of your face like your nose and mouth. Then you wash your arms three times, starting with your right arm and then your left arm. You even wash your elbows!

Then you wipe your head with wet hands and wash your feet three times. You start with your right foot and then your left foot, making sure to get all the parts like your toes. That's it! You finished wudu and are now clean and ready to pray to God.
