The African diaspora is when a group of people originally from Africa or descended from African ancestors move away from Africa and live in another part of the world. This happened over the centuries when African people were forced to leave their homes because of wars, violence, or to look for work and a better life. Many African people were brought over as slaves to other parts of the world and had to stay there. People in the African diaspora now live all around the world, including places like the United States, Europe, and South America. They still keep their African culture alive with things like music, food, clothes, and language.
