Agnotology

Agnotology is the study of how people's knowledge and beliefs are spread by certain groups who deliberately spread confusion and misinformation. The people who do this want people to believe things which are not true, and this can have a big effect on how people feel and act. It's sort of like a game: the people who spread the misinformation try to win by getting as many people as possible to believe them.
