Alternative fuels

Alternative fuels are different types of fuels that are not made from oil. Examples of alternative fuels include electric power, ethanol, biodiesel, hydrogen, and biogas. Electric power is a type of fuel that is created when electricity from a power plant is used to power an electric motor. Ethanol is a type of fuel made from plants, such as corn. Biodiesel is a type of fuel made from vegetable oils or animal fats. Hydrogen is a type of fuel made from water and renewable energy sources. Finally, biogas is a type of fuel made from the decomposition of organic matter, such as garbage and food waste. Alternative fuels are becoming more popular because they produce fewer emissions of dangerous gases, like carbon dioxide, than traditional oil-based fuels.
