Anti-discrimination laws are laws that make it illegal to treat someone unfairly because of something about them that they cannot change. It is against the law to treat people differently because of their race, skin color, national origin, disability, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. This means that employers, landlords, and others cannot treat people differently because of these things. For example, an employer cannot refuse to hire someone because they are disabled or a landlord cannot refuse to rent to someone because of their religion.
