Artificial Reef Society of British Columbia

Okay kiddo, so you know how fish and other sea creatures live in the ocean, right? But sometimes humans can damage their natural habitats or fishing can be too much, so the fish don't have enough places to live.

That's where the Artificial Reef Society of British Columbia comes in! They create man-made structures called artificial reefs that are placed underwater. These structures are designed to look like natural habitats for fish and other sea creatures.

The society works with volunteers and donations to create these structures using old boats, cars, and other materials. Once the structures are built, they are carefully placed underwater in different locations along the coast of British Columbia.

So why do we need these artificial reefs? Well, they create new habitats for the fish to live in, which helps conserve their populations. They also attract divers and tourists who want to see the different types of sea life that live in and around the structures.

Overall, the Artificial Reef Society of British Columbia is helping to protect our oceans and the creatures that live in them by providing new homes for fish, and it's really important that we take care of our oceans and everything in them!
