Attitude polarization is when people become more set in their attitudes or views on a topic. This can happen when people discuss their different views with each other, and they keep talking about it more and more. For example, imagine there are two people who feel differently about a new playground in their town. One person is excited about it and really likes the idea, while the other person thinks it's a bad idea. After talking about it and discussing their different views, they might both become more and more sure of their opinions: the first person might become more excited about the playground than before, and the second person might become even more convinced that it is a bad idea. This is called attitude polarization: their attitudes are becoming more extreme, 'polarized'.
