ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Bhavacakra

Bhavacakra is a wheel that has been used as a visual tool to represent the Buddhist teachings of suffering and how to be free of it. The wheel has eight spokes and each spoke stands for a different type of suffering. The outer circle of the wheel represents the world, which is full of suffering, and the inner circle represents nirvana, which is free from suffering. The spokes show the things that cause suffering and the paths you can take to reach nirvana. The Buddha taught that the only way to be free from suffering is to follow these paths and eventually you will reach nirvana.
