Boondoggle

Boondoggle is a slang word for an activity that is usually pointless, wasteful, or silly. It's something people do when they have too much time and money, and it's usually not a productive use of either. For example, if a group of people decided to take a long vacation but everyone spent their time arguing instead of having fun, that would be a boondoggle.
