Censorship by organized religion

Organized religion is when people who believe in the same thing get together and try to influence rules and laws. Censorship by organized religion is when people in the religion try to control what is allowed to be said or done. This could mean they tell people what they can and cannot say or do. They do this to keep the religion and their beliefs safe and in control. For example, some organized religions might say that people can't watch certain movies or television shows, read certain books, or make jokes about religious beliefs. This is so their beliefs don't get challenged or disrespected.
