ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Central processing unit

A Central Processing Unit, or CPU, is like the brain of a computer. It processes all of the instructions that tell the computer what to do and how to do it. Think of it like a chef - they get instructions, like a recipe, and have to follow those instructions to make something delicious. The CPU is the same - it gets instructions from the computer, like what app to open, what letters to type, and how to save your work, then it goes and does it. So the CPU is like the brain of the computer and it does all of the hard work!
