Commodity status of animals

Okay kiddo, let's talk about something called commodity status of animals. So, you know how we buy and sell things like toys and food? Well, there are some things that people buy and sell that are alive, like animals. Some animals are treated like things that can be bought, sold, and used for different things, and that's called commodity status.

Now, some animals, like pets or endangered species, are not considered commodities. But other animals that are used for things like food or clothing, like cows or sheep, are considered commodities. That means people can buy and sell them like any other thing they might buy or sell.

Lots of people think that animals should be treated with kindness and respect, just like people. But when animals are treated like commodities, they might not get the same kind of care or attention as they would if people thought of them as friends or members of the family.

It's important to remember that animals are living creatures, and we should treat them with kindness and respect no matter what their status. Even if we use them for food or clothing, we should still make sure they have a happy, healthy life while they're with us.
