Cone (geometry)

Imagine if you took a round piece of paper and cut out a slice in the shape of a pizza. If you take both sides of the cut and bring them together, you would have a cone!

It's like a triangle on top of a circle. The pointy end is the top and the wider end is the bottom. You can think of it like an ice cream cone or a party hat.

Math people use cones to talk about shapes with curved lines. For example, a volcano has a cone shape or a traffic cone on the road.

One cool thing about cones is that they have something called a slant height, which is a line from the tip of the cone to the edge of the circle at the base. This helps us figure out how much space is inside the cone or how much material we need to wrap around it.

So, in short, a cone is a 3D shape that has a pointy end on top and a flat circle on the bottom. It's useful for people who like to talk about shapes and measurements.
