ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith

The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith is like a group of grown-ups who are responsible for making sure that people believe the right things about God and religion. They want to make sure that everyone is following the same rules and believing the same things. They do this by studying books and talking to other grown-ups who know a lot about religion. They also get to decide if someone is doing something really wrong, like teaching something that is not true, and they can tell them to stop. It's like when a teacher at school makes sure everyone is following the rules and learning the right things.
