Ectogenesis is a way of caring for babies where the baby is placed in an artificial container instead of being inside a mother's body (womb). Inside the container, special machines keep the baby warm and provide it with food and oxygen. This means that the baby can grow outside of a mother's body, which is a different way than how most babies are born. This can be helpful for couples who don't have the ability to have a baby in the traditional way. It can also help if a mother isn't healthy enough to give birth.
