ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Electricity distribution

Electricity distribution is how electricity gets to our homes. It's like a pipeline that carries electricity. At the beginning of the pipeline, electricity is produced at power plants, where it is made by spinning big turbines and machines. Then, the electricity is sent through wires, like long tubes, to the homes and businesses that need it to use. The wires have big towers that help keep the wires as close to the ground as possible and make sure the electricity is delivered without any accidents. Finally, the electricity enters our homes through outlets and plugs, ready for us to use to power lights, appliances and machines.
