ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Face perception

Face perception is how our brains recognize faces. Our brains are really good at spotting faces, even when they are upside down, blurry or in different lighting. When we see a face, our brains process some basic information, like how old the person is and what mood they might be in. It can also recognize people we know. Our brains are so good at this because we've been practicing it since we were babies!
