ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Forced migration

Okay kiddo, let me explain this to you. Do you remember when we went on a trip and we had to pack our bags and leave our house for a while? Well, sometimes people have to do the same thing but for different reasons, and it's called forced migration.

Forced migration is when people have to leave their homes and go to a different place because they feel like they have no other choice. They might be forced to leave because of things like war, natural disasters, or dangerous situations in their homeland.

Now, imagine you live in a country where there's a war going on, and it's not safe for you to stay there. You don't want to leave your home, but it's too dangerous to stay. So, you pack your bags and leave everything you know behind. You might have to travel far away to another country, where you don't know anyone or anything. This is what forced migration looks like for many people.

Forced migration can be really hard for people. They might feel scared, sad or homesick, and they might have to start a new life from scratch. But, there are people and organizations who work to help them and make them feel welcome in their new home.
